MY BOATH FAMILY

This is the story of my Mother's family, the BOATHS of Forfar. The furthest back family which I have been able to trace came from kinettles in the second half of the 1700s. Later Boaths living in Forfar were weavers, and one who was a poulterer, also took up work as a taxidermist! My maternal grandfather Lewis Simpson Boath became a Draper, whilst his wife Annie was a Milliner. He set himself up as a Linen Agent latterly in Carnoustie, where my Mother was born.
